CM orders judicial probe into Jamshoro shootout

KARACHI - Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, while taking strict notice of the killing of four labourers in a “controversial” shootout in Jamshoro, on Sunday ordered a judicial probe into the “tragic” incident to ascertain the facts. Earlier, the chief minister spoke to MPA Sikandar Shoro and the Hyderabad DIG by telephone to know about the details of the incident. Qaim ordered the additional chief secretary (Home) to immediately launch an investigation into the incident under a sessions judge. The chief minister meanwhile condoled the sad demise of renowned educationist, poet and writer, Prof Afaq Siddiqui. Expressing profound grief over the demise, Qaim prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. In his condolence message, the chief minister lauded the services of Afaq Siddiqui in the field of literature and poetry. He said that by translating “Shah Jo Risalo” into Urdu, Sidddiqui not only introduced the philosophy and message of great Sufi poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai to the Urdu-speaking community but also authored many books in Urdu as well as Sindhi language. “His literary work is not only an asset for the literary circles but also for the next generations.”The chief minister said that Professor Afaq Siddiqui did authentic research work on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and translated his peace-loving message into Urdu. He added that through his literary contributions, the writer acted as a bridge between the Urdu and Sindhi speaking people.
